CALLED TO BE ENGAGED IN MISSION TOGETHER

We want to work together as Christ's hands and feet in the world.  We feel called to mission and see it as a way to come together when other things divide us.  The Book of Order states the purpose of Presbyteries..."to help congregations and the church as a whole be more faithful participants in the mission of Christ." (G-3.0101)

At the February 2012 Presbytery meeting, those gathered wrote down some of the exciting ways their congregation is engage in mission, in summary:

• 10 are helping and providing materials in elementary schools
• 10 are cooking and serving food to those who are hungry, homeless and elderly
• 8 are providing overnight shelters for homeless; 4 of the churches within this group are involved in the Family Promise program
• 8 either house or help and provide for Food Closets
• 8 have mission trips, youth/adult in the USA or other courtries
• 5 are supporting various missions in other countries with money

This is in addition to the things most congregations do like Vacation Bible School, Holiday Food Baskets, etc. Click here to see the full list of the amazing ways we are engaged in the mission of Christ!
